United South Panthers (Laredo, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX), 69-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, United South upgrades its record to 14-6 on the season. The Panthers travel to Palmview (La Joya, TX) to clash with the Lobos in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 17. The Lobos go into the bout with a record of 15-6. Palmview won 83-53 in their recent non-league bout against Economedes (Edinburg, TX)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. Weslaco will attempt to upgrade on its 9-11 season record. The Rattlers go into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 52-27 non-league win over Zapata (Zapata, TX).
