Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Wortham Bulldogs (Wortham, TX) and the visiting Avalon Eagles (Avalon, TX), saw Wortham's basketball squad knock off Avalon by a count of 37-18.

With the victory, Wortham upgrades its record to 1-9 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Marlin (Marlin, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region III District 18 challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 5-6.

Next up, the Eagles play the Milford Bulldogs (Milford, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 26 challenge, on Friday, December 16. Avalon will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 68-27 league win over Penelope (Penelope, TX).
