Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Green Mountain Chieftains (Chester, VT) and the visiting Mt. St. Joseph Academy Green Wave (Rutland, VT), saw Green Mountain's basketball team get by Mt. St. Joseph Academy by a score of 37-34.
The Chieftains now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Arlington Memorial for a Marble Valley - D battle on Thursday, January 5.
The Green Wave (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Leland & Gray (Townshend, VT). The Rebels come into the Marble Valley - C battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Leland & Gray edged Long Trail (Dorset, VT), 43-34, in a non-league battle.
