Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL), 57-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Springfield upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Senators travel to Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 3-1. Springfield Southeast lost 67-66 in their recent non-league bout against Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL)

Next up, the Lions play the Williamsville Bullets (Williamsville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 14. Lanphier will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record.
