DeRidder Dragons (DeRidder, LA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sam Houston Broncos (Lake Charles, LA), 62-61 in a non-league bout.

With the win, DeRidder upgrades its record to 2-8 on the season. The Dragons travel to Merryville (Merryville, LA) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 14. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 7-6. Merryville lost 69-24 in their recent non-league bout against South Beauregard (Longville, LA)

Next up, the Broncos play the Westlake Rams (Westlake, LA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 16. Sam Houston will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 11-1 record after their 44-42 non-league loss to LaGrange (Lake Charles, LA).
