East Side Red Raiders (Newark, NJ) fans went home pleased Friday as they observed their basketball team overwhelm the visiting Bard Early College Raptors (Newark, NJ), 61-23 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Raiders (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Bard (New York, NY). The come into the non-league challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, Bard was routed by Clinton School (New York, NY), 65-56, in a league challenge.
