The Santa Maria Cougars defeated the visiting Raymondville Bearkats basketball squad by a final score of 60-40 in Friday's non-league outing.

Next, the Cougars clash with the Freer Buckaroos (Freer, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 32 outing, on Tuesday, December 17. Santa Maria will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Buckaroos come into the outing with a 7-5 record after their 48-45 non-league loss to Danbury (Danbury, TX).
