Utah High School Basketball - Payson thwarts Cedar

December 13, 2024: Cedar City, UT 84720

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Payson Lions (Payson, UT) and the host Cedar Reds (Cedar City, UT), observed Payson's basketball team knock off Cedar by a score of 52-42.

The Lions (4-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Salem Hills (Salem, UT). The Skyhawks come into the non-league challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Salem Hills prevailed over Cedar Valley (Eagle Mountain, UT), 38-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Reds encounter the Desert Hills Thunder (St. George, UT) in a 4A Region 9 challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Cedar will attempt to improve on its 4-4 season record. The Thunder come into the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 50-42 non-league loss to Salem Hills (Salem, UT).
