The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) and the host Red Springs Red Devils (Red Springs, NC), observed East Columbus's basketball team knock off Red Springs by a score of 29-19.
The Gators (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC). The Eagles come into the 1A/2A Waccamaw challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, East Bladen prevailed over Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC), 52-12, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Red Devils encounter the Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 14. Red Springs will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record. The Leopards come into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 43-31 non-league win over Midway (Dunn, NC).
