Fans at Friday's league battle between the Corona del Sol Aztecs (Tempe, AZ) and the visiting Gilbert Tigers (Gilbert, AZ), saw Corona del Sol's soccer squad hold off Gilbert by a count of 1-0.

The Aztecs (4-0) will now prepare for their battle against Mesa (Mesa, AZ). The Jackrabbits enter the non-league battle with a 0-6 record. In their last battle, Mesa was edged by Campo Verde (Gilbert, AZ), 7-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Tigers battle the Hamilton Huskies (Chandler, AZ) in a non-league battle, on Monday, January 6. Gilbert will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Huskies enter the battle with a 2-2 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to O'Connor (Phoenix, AZ).
