Bellevue West Thunderbirds (Bellevue, NE) backers went home thrilled Saturday as they saw their basketball team thwart the visiting Gretna East Griffins (Gretna, NE), 72-56 in a non-league contest.

The Thunderbirds (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Creighton Prep (Omaha, NE). The Junior Jays go into the non-league outing with a 3-1 record.

The Griffins (3-1) will now prepare for their game against Bennington (Bennington, NE). The Badgers go into the non-league game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Bennington was toppled by Elkhorn North (Elkhorn, NE), 76-66, in a league game.
