The Maryville Red Rebels (Maryville, TN) basketball edged the host Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY), 66-61 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Red Rebels now possess a 8-1 record. They play next when they travel to Alcoa for a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 16. Maryville will play a Tornadoes team coming off a 74-70 non-league win over Boyd-Buchanan (Chattanooga, TN). The Tornadoes record now stands at 4-2.
With the loss, Boyd County falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Lions host West Carter (Olive Hill, KY) to encounter the Comets in a non-league challenge on Monday, December 15. The Comets come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. West Carter lost 68-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Russell (Russell, KY)
