Ider Hornets (Ider, AL) backers went home thrilled Saturday as they saw their basketball team smash the host Cullman Christian Lions (Cullman, AL), 65-26 in a non-league contest.
The Hornets (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Oakwood Academy (Huntsville, AL). The Mustangs enter the 1A Area 16 match with a 6-8 record. In their last match, Oakwood Academy overwhelmed Madison County (Gurley, AL), 57-55, in a non-league match.
The Lions now sport a 0-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Meek for a 1A Area 14 match on Tuesday, December 16. Cullman Christian will confront a Tigers team coming off a 51-22 league win over St. Bernard Prep (Cullman, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 7-0.
