In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Grand Saline Indians basketball team scored a big 48-24 win over the Meridian Yellowjackets.

The Indians (14-10) will now prepare for their match against Wills Point (Wills Point, TX). The Tigers enter the non-league match with a 4-8 record. In their last match, Wills Point was crushed by Chisum (Paris, TX), 60-47, in a non-league match.

The Yellowjackets now own a 3-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Valley Mills for a 2A Region II District 12 match on Tuesday, December 16. Meridian will battle a Eagles team coming off a 37-36 non-league win over Axtell (Axtell, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 6-7.
