The Richton Rebels (Richton, MS) basketball were winner over the visiting Picayune Maroon Tide (Picayune, MS), 56-41 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Rebels now possess a 10-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Poplarville for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 16. Richton will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 39-31 non-league win over East Central (Moss Point, MS). The Hornets record now stands at 5-6.
The Maroon Tide (7-6) will now prepare for their test against Long Beach (Long Beach, MS). The Bearcats come into the 6A Region 4 test with a 1-11 record. In their last bout, Long Beach fell by Gautier (Gautier, MS), 31-16, in a league bout.
