Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Santa Clara Bruins (Santa Clara, CA) and the visiting Pioneer Mustangs (San Jose, CA), saw Santa Clara's soccer squad hold off Pioneer by a count of 1-0.

The Bruins (6-0) will now prepare for their battle against Menlo-Atherton (Atherton, CA). The Bears enter the non-league battle with a 3-2 record. In their last match, Menlo-Atherton nipped Newark Memorial (Newark, CA), 2-0, in a non-league match.

The Mustangs now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Piedmont Hills for a BVAL - Mt. Hamilton match on Wednesday, January 7.
