Acorn Tigers (Mena, AR) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host De Queen Leopards (De Queen, AR), 68-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Acorn upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Tigers host Spring Hill (Hope, AR) to clash with the Bears in a 2A Region 7 bout on Thursday, December 15. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Spring Hill lost 69-41 in their recent non-league bout against Lafayette County (Stamps, AR)

Next up, the Leopards clash with the Legacy Academy Warriors (Lockesburg, AR) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 27. De Queen will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 15-3 record after their 106-48 non-league win over Bloomburg (Bloomburg, TX).
