Newport Buffaloes (Newport, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Antietam Mountaineers (Reading, PA), 44-8 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newport upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Buffaloes host East Juniata (McAlisterville, PA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 15. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 2-3. East Juniata lost 45-18 in their recent non-league bout against Danville (Danville, PA)

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Kutztown Cougars (Kutztown, PA) in a Berks County 4 bout, on Friday, December 16. Antietam will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 62-22 non-league loss to Pequea Valley (Kinzers, PA).
