Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Western Alamance Warriors (Elon, NC), 51-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Asheboro upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Blue Comets host Thomasville (Thomasville, NC) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-3. Thomasville won 47-42 in their recent non-league bout against West Davidson (Lexington, NC)

Next up, the Warriors play the Eastern Alamance Eagles (Mebane, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. Western Alamance will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 61-39 non-league win over Bartlett Yancey (Yanceyville, NC).
