The Mount Vernon Bulldogs basketball team scored 73 points and held the host Anacortes Seahawks to 68 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Thursday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 6-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lakewood for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest contest on Tuesday, December 19. Mount Vernon will battle a Cougars team coming off a 64-59 league loss to Nooksack Valley (Everson, WA). The Cougars record now stands at 3-3.

The Seahawks (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Stanwood (Stanwood, WA). The Spartans enter the non-league contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Stanwood was nudged by Edmonds-Woodway (Edmonds, WA), 73-60, in a league contest.
