Waurika Eagles (Waurika, OK) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Grandfield Bearcats (Grandfield, OK), 49-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Waurika upgrades its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Big Pasture (Randlett, OK) to play the Rangers in a Southern Eight bout on Friday, December 15. The Rangers come into the bout with a record of 6-5. Big Pasture lost 56-48 in their recent non-league bout against Cyril (Cyril, OK)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Big Pasture Rangers (Randlett, OK) in a Southern Eight bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Grandfield will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record.
