Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Philadelphia Military Academy overwhelmed by Philadelphia Academy Charter

The Philadelphia Military Academy Knights basketball team (Philadelphia, PA), was overwhelmed 53-29 in Thursday's league battle with the host Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers (Philadelphia, PA)
The Chargers now possess a 5-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Science Leadership Academy for a Philadelphia Public - Colonial battle on Thursday, December 21. Philadelphia Academy Charter will battle a team coming off a 66-51 league win over KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy (Philadelphia, PA). The record now stands at 2-2.
The Knights (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Girard Academic Music Program (Philadelphia, PA). The Pioneers come into the non-league battle with a 2-2 record.
First Quarter
The Chargers came out hot in the first quarter with solid defense which was followed by the hot hand of Sophomore Jordan Benzenahfer who tallied 7 points in the first. PMA found themselves trailing by 11 points early in the game, despite having the height advantage against the PACHS team.
Second Quarter
PACHS continued to increase their lead in the 2 quarter racking up another 12 points by the end of the quarter. The Charger’s team went 5 for 9 at the foul line and put PMA in foul trouble by the first half of the game. PMA found themselves down by 13 points to the Chargers by half time.
Third Quarter
PACHS did not let up on the PMA team, adding another 12 points in the 3rd quarter with the help of Senior Jordan Brennan-Melo and Sophomore Jordan Benzenahfer offensively. Allowing the Chargers to get more of their bench in the game early in the quarter.
Fourth Quarter
The Chargers were able to close out the game and preserve their starters. Even with their starters sitting for the 4th quarter, PACHS was still able to add another 14 points to their lead. Freshman Demetriy Magondu came off the bench to score 5 points for the Chargers.
The Chargers have a tough match up coming up next Thursday against a hungry SLA team.
