Morningside Monarchs (Inglewood, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Firebaugh Falcons (Lynwood, CA), 40-23 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Morningside upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Monarchs host Hawthorne (Hawthorne, CA) to play the Cougars in a Ocean bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 2-3.

Next up, the Falcons play the Dominguez Dons (Compton, CA) in a San Gabriel Valley bout, on Friday, January 5. Firebaugh will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record.
