Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL), 59-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pleasant Plains upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Breese Central (Breese, IL) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 9-0. Breese Central won 60-31 in their recent league bout against Columbia (Columbia, IL)

Next up, the Spartans play the Tremont Turks (Tremont, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 18. Olympia will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Turks come into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 43-30 league win over Ridgeview (Colfax, IL).
