The North Smithfield Northmen basketball team scored 89 points and limited the visiting Block Island to 29 in the Northmen league triumph on Saturday.

The Northmen now have a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Central Falls for a Division 3 game on Tuesday, December 17. North Smithfield will confront a Warriors team coming off a 51-48 non-league loss to Shea (Pawtucket, RI). The Warriors record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Block Island falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The host Toll Gate (Warwick, RI) to confront the Titans in a Division 3 game on Saturday, December 21. The Titans go into the game with a record of 1-0.
