The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) and the visiting Mater Dei Knights (Breese, IL), observed Pinckneyville's basketball team knock off Mater Dei by a score of 62-52.

The Panthers (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL). The Indians come into the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, DuQuoin was knocked off by Benton (Benton, IL), 57-44, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Knights encounter the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Mater Dei will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 8-1 record after their 65-61 non-league win over Dunlap (Dunlap, IL).
