Illinois High School Basketball - Mt. Vernon overwhelms Mt. Carmel

The Mt. Vernon Wildcats basketball team scored 67 points and limited the host Mt. Carmel Golden Aces to 25 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Wildcats now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Heritage Hills for a Pocket game on Tuesday, December 17. Mt. Vernon will confront a Patriots team coming off a 61-60 non-league win over Floyd Central (Floyds Knobs, IN). The Patriots record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Mt. Carmel falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Golden aces host Flora (Flora, IL) to confront the Wolves in a non-league game on Tuesday, December 17. The Wolves go into the game with a record of 1-6. Flora won 53-49 in their recent league match against Carmi-White County (Carmi, IL)
