North Carolina High School Basketball - Martin County nips SouthWest Edgecombe

The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Martin County Gators (Williamston, NC) and the host SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC), observed Martin County's basketball team edge SouthWest Edgecombe by a margin of 35-33.

The Gators (3-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Ayden - Grifton (Ayden, NC). The Chargers come into the non-league challenge with a 5-0 record. In their last challenge, Ayden - Grifton edged North Lenoir (LaGrange, NC), 78-47, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Greene Central Rams (Snow Hill, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 20. SouthWest Edgecombe will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record.
