The English Valleys Bears basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks to 44 in the Bears league triumph on Thursday.

In their next game, the Bears face the North Mahaska Warhawks (New Sharon, IA) in a South Iowa Cedar game, on Tuesday, December 20. English Valleys will attempt to move on its 2-6 season record. The Warhawks enter the game with a 5-2 record after their 92-31 league win over Tri-County (Thornburg, IA).

With the defeat, Colfax-Mingo moves to 0-5 on the year. The Tigerhawks travel to Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, IA) to face the Plainsmen in a South Iowa Cedar game on Tuesday, January 3. The Plainsmen enter the game with a record of 6-1.
