Yates Lions (Houston, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Houston Math Science & Tech Tigers (Houston, TX), 55-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Yates upgrades its record to 7-0 on the season. The Lions travel to Wheatley (Houston, TX) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Friday, December 16. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 4-7. Wheatley won 50-43 in their recent non-league bout against North Forest (Houston, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Lamar Texans (Houston, TX) in a 6A Region III District 18 bout, on Monday, December 19. Houston Math Science & Tech will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Texans go into the bout with a 7-7 record after their 65-36 league win over Westbury (Houston, TX).
