The Russell Red Devils routed the visiting West Carter Comets basketball team by a final score of 72-33 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Red Devils face the Greenup County Musketeers (Greenup, KY) in a District 63 game, on Friday, December 16. Russell will attempt to move on its 3-3 season record. The Musketeers enter the game with a 3-2 record after their 57-45 non-league win over Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY).

With the defeat, West Carter moves to 1-5 on the year. The Comets travel to Bluegrass United (Lexington, KY) to face the Bluehawks in a non-league game on Saturday, December 17. The Bluehawks enter the game with a record of 6-6. Bluegrass United won 54-35 in their recent non-league game against Frankfort (Frankfort, KY)
