The South Caldwell Spartans basketball team (Hudson, NC), was nudged 48-43 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC)

The Titans now possess a 8-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Avery County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 20. McDowell will confront a Vikings team coming off a 49-38 league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 5-4.

The Spartans (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Maiden (Maiden, NC). The Blue Devils come into the non-league battle with a 4-2 record. In their last battle, Maiden edged East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC), 48-39, in a non-league battle.
