Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (Denison, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Clarinda Cardinals (Clarinda, IA), 69-53 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Denison-Schleswig upgrades its record to 2-5 on the campaign. The Monarchs travel to Red Oak (Red Oak, IA) to play the Tigers in a Hawkeye Ten bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 3-5. Red Oak lost 75-58 in their recent non-league bout against Underwood (Underwood, IA)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Harlan Cyclones (Harlan, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Clarinda will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Cyclones come into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 62-59 league win over Red Oak (Red Oak, IA).
