In Friday's league outing, the Liberty Mountaineers (Clarksburg, WV) basketball squad edged the visiting Elkins Tigers (Elkins, WV), by a count of 52-46.
The Mountaineers (2-1) will now prepare for their outing against Doddridge County (West Union, WV). The Bulldogs go into the non-league outing with a 3-0 record. In their last outing, Doddridge County held off South Harrison (Lost Creek, WV), 72-31, in a league outing.
The Tigers now hold a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Tucker County for a non-league outing on Wednesday, December 20. Elkins will clash with a Mountain Lions squad coming off a 60-50 non-league win over Mountain Ridge (Frostburg, MD). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 2-2.
