Texas High School Basketball - Independence knocked off by The Colony

The The Colony Cougars basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Independence Knights to 42 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 12-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Creekview for a 5A Region II District 9 contest on Tuesday, December 19. The Colony will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 56-50 non-league win over Ranchview (Irving, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-5.

The Knights (4-11) will now prepare for their contest against Lebanon Trail (Frisco, TX). The Trail Blazers enter the 5A Region II District 10 contest with a 3-14 record. In their last contest, Lebanon Trail was defeated by Celina (Celina, TX), 56-41, in a non-league contest.
