Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) and the visiting South Rowan Raiders (China Grove, NC), saw North Stanly's basketball squad knock off South Rowan by a count of 71-54.

With the victory, North Stanly upgrades its record to 8-1 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to play the Yellow Jackets in a non-league challenge on Monday, December 18. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a record of 4-3. Forest Hills won 74-69 in their recent non-league challenge against Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC)

Next up, the Raiders play the East Rowan Mustangs (Salisbury, NC) in a 3A South Piedmont challenge, on Tuesday, December 19. South Rowan will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 77-41 league loss to Robinson (Concord, NC).
