Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL), 72-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Springfield upgrades its record to 3-6 on the season. The Senators travel to Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL) to play the Crimsons in a Central State Eight bout on Saturday, December 16. The Crimsons go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Jacksonville won 60-52 in their recent non-league bout against Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL)

In their next game, the Eagles face the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs (Mahomet, IL) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, January 3. Rantoul will attempt to move on its 1-8 season record.
