Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Westminster Christian Academy Lions (Watkinsville, GA), 59-16 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Athens Academy upgrades its record to 6-4 on the season. The Spartans host Tallulah Falls (Tallulah Falls, GA) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 4-4.

Next up, the Lions play the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers (Warrenton, GA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 16. Westminster Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Buccaneers go into the bout with a 7-1 record after their 45-41 non-league loss to Brentwood (Sandersville, GA).
