The Somers Spartans basketball team scored 65 points and restricted the visiting Bacon Academy Bobcats to 54 in the Spartans non-league victory on Friday.

The Spartans now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Coventry for a North Central Connecticut contest on Monday, December 18. Somers will battle a Patriots team coming off a 46-29 non-league loss to New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT). The Patriots record now stands at 2-1.

The Bobcats (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Granby Memorial (Granby, CT). The Bears come into the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.
