Pennsylvania High School Basketball - New Castle can't hold off Hopewell

The New Castle Hurricanes basketball team (New Castle, PA), was nudged 37-33 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA)

The Vikings now possess a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Beaver for a WPIAL 4A 2 battle on Tuesday, December 19. Hopewell will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 51-34 non-league loss to Harding (Warren, OH). The Bobcats record now stands at 2-5.

The Hurricanes (0-5) will now prepare for their battle against Blackhawk (Beaver Falls, PA). The Cougars come into the non-league battle with a 5-1 record.
