The Marian Catholic Spartans basketball team scored 55 points and held the visiting Providence Catholic Celtics to 32 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Spartans now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Benet Academy for a East Suburban Catholic contest on Saturday, December 16. Marian Catholic will meet a Redwings team coming off a 51-33 league loss to Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, IL). The Redwings record now stands at 6-4.

The Celtics (7-6) will now prepare for their contest against Joliet West (Joliet, IL). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 6-5 record. In their last contest, Joliet West triumphed over Plainfield North (Plainfield, IL), 59-58, in a league contest.
