The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Avalon Black Knights (Wheaton, MD) and the host Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans (Arlington, VA), observed Avalon's basketball team edge Veritas Collegiate Academy by a score of 74-68.
The Black Knights (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Takoma Academy (Takoma Park, MD). The Tigers enter the Maryland Independent battle with a 3-5 record. In their last battle, Takoma Academy tipped King's Christian Academy (Callaway, MD), 87-64, in a league battle.
The Spartans now own a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host TPLS Christian Academy for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 16. Veritas Collegiate Academy will meet a Lions squad coming off a 80-64 non-league win over Veritas Collegiate Academy (Arlington, VA). The Lions record now stands at 4-6.
