The Oakton Cougars (Vienna, VA) basketball edged the visiting West Springfield Spartans (Springfield, VA), 55-50 in Monday's non-league bout.
The Cougars now possess a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to Herndon for a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 17. Oakton will play a Hornets team coming off a 70-43 non-league loss to South Lakes (Reston, VA). The Hornets record now stands at 1-5.
With the defeat, West Springfield moves to 2-3 on the season. The Spartans host Alexandria City (Alexandria, VA) to encounter the Titans in a District 4 test on Wednesday, December 17. The Titans come into the test with a record of 1-4. Alexandria City lost 61-33 in their recent non-league test against Maret (Washington, DC)
