The Newton County Cougars basketball team scored 40 points and limited the host Scott Central Rebels to 11 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Monday.

The Cougars now possess a 7-2 record. They play next when they travel to Kemper County for a non-league game on Monday, December 22.

With the defeat, Scott Central moves to 9-2 on the season. The Rebels host Leake County (Walnut Grove, MS) to clash with the Gators in a non-league test on Tuesday, December 16.
