Douglass Hurricanes (Detroit, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Academy of the Americas (Detroit, MI), 91-20 in a league bout.

With the win, Douglass upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Hurricanes travel to Mattawan (Mattawan, MI) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Sunday, December 18. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Mattawan won 66-56 in their recent league bout against Portage Central (Portage, MI)

Next up, the play the Osborn Knights (Detroit, MI) in a Detroit Public II bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Academy of the Americas will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record.
