West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting St. Francis Wyverns (Louisville, KY), 64-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Carter upgrades its record to 1-5 on the season. The Comets travel to Beth Haven (Louisville, KY) to clash with the Bearcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 17. The Bearcats go into the bout with a record of 6-1. Beth Haven won 42-29 in their recent non-league bout against Pendleton County (Falmouth, KY)

Next up, the Wyverns clash with the Menifee County Wildcats (Frenchburg, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 17. St. Francis will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 81-68 league loss to Bath County (Owingsville, KY).
