The Houston Christian Mustangs basketball team scored 71 points and held the host Tyler Lions to 65 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 12-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Palo Verde for a non-league contest on Monday, December 19. Houston Christian will battle a Panthers team coming off a 60-53 non-league win over Silverado (Las Vegas, NV). The Panthers record now stands at 3-3.

The Lions (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against Hallsville (Hallsville, TX). The Bobcats enter the 5A Region II District 15 contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, Hallsville nudged Liberty-Eylau (Texarkana, TX), 51-41, in a non-league contest.
