Leflore County Tigers (Itta Bena, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting J.Z. George Jaguars (North Carrollton, MS), 55-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Leflore County upgrades its record to 4-6 on the season. The Tigers host Coahoma County (Clarksdale, MS) to play the Red Panthers in a 2A Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Red Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-2.

Next up, the Jaguars play the New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 29. J.Z. George will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
