Nederland Bulldogs (Nederland, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Kelly Catholic Bulldogs (Beaumont, TX), 66-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Nederland upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Goose Creek Memorial (Baytown, TX) to clash with the Patriots in a 5A Region III District 17 bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 8-10. Goose Creek Memorial lost 61-53 in their recent non-league bout against Hardin-Jefferson (Sour Lake, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the East Chambers Buccaneers (Winnie, TX) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 19. Kelly Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Buccaneers go into the bout with a 14-1 record after their 44-41 non-league win over Big Sandy (Dallardsville, TX).
