In Friday's non-league outing, the Lufkin Panthers (Lufkin, TX) basketball squad edged the visiting Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), by a count of 48-43.
The Panthers (17-0) will now prepare for their outing against A&M Consolidated (College Station, TX). The Tigers go into the non-league outing with a 10-4 record. In their last outing, A&M Consolidated held off Magnolia (Magnolia, TX), 54-26, in a league outing.
